“Let’s Go.”

It’s great to say. People say it all the time. LFG gets everyone jazzed.

We hear it a lot in new music, often as an ad-lib. And there have always been songs titled “Let’s Go” about going out, having a good time. However:

A go! part is different. It’s more signature. It’s a special moment in the tune.

What follows is a list of memorable go!s we jotted down as we encountered them. We put them in order for you. Here’s our list as of 2022-11-02:

We all know and love these, but unfortunately they don’t qualify as songs with a distinct go part. Most of these tunes are built around the larger concept of go or let’s go and usually have it in the chorus. We also recognize that many of these honorable tunes have distinct go! parts within them that would otherwise qualify. For example, we debated including Pearl Jam – Go due to the go! at 0:54, which is a good one. But we must draw the line somewhere. Ultimately this post focuses on songs with a “go part” as a special feature of the tune. A special and distinct sonic exclamation point.
